Online marketplace for photography, Picsdream raises funding from angel investors

Picsdream, an online marketplace for photography has raised angel funding from a group of investors led by Raman Roy (co-founder of Indian Angel Network). Other prominent investors include Ankit Nagori, ex-CBO Flipkart and Harish Natarajan, former CEO Bausch & Lomb India.

Other investors that participated in this round include Surojit Shome, India CEO of DBS Bank, Vipin Chawla co-founder Instant Systems Inc., Baskar Subramaniyan, and Madhavan Sreenivasan, co-founders of Servion and former Citibank executive Vikram Sud. With this, Ankit Nagori and Harish Natarajan will join the startup’s Board of Directors.

Established in November 2015 by Manoj Nair, Delhi-based Picsdream is a platform under the group organization of Addazz Online Services (P) Ltd. It is a marketplace and a platform, both on the web and as a mobile application for photographers to share, showcase and monetize their work. Some other applications for photograph sharing are Instagram, PicsArt, Shoto, and so on.

The platform links photographers, be it beginner, semi-expert or experts, with purchasers of photographs. It additionally provides the buyers with choices of media on which they can get the desired photo printed and delivered.

Discussing the development investor Raman Roy, said, “I am excited up for Picsdream’ss vision and technique as it reinforces its platform, develops its community of contributors and engages with purchasers. I believe that the timing is on the whole correct to make a commercial center for photographers as there is uplifted enthusiasm for photography, given that more than a trillion photos are clicked each year. The startup will use the recently raised capital for advertising to assemble its group of Picsdreamers, and deploy resources for product and technology development for an upgraded user experience.

Picsdream aims to be the biggest stage for the Indian visual arts community. Beginning with photographs and after that moving to different types of visual art, Picsdream plans to promote visual art in India.
