In an encouraging move, Mahindra group chief Anand Mahindra has made an undisclosed amount of investment in a women-oriented digital media platform, SheThePeople.TV.
The investment was done in his personal capacity.
The firm plans to use the capital for expansion which includes launching a number of initiatives, including forums, events and content in regional languages.
SheThePeople.TV is a video story telling space that aims to inspire women, strengthen their efforts, exchange leadership ideas, foster networking and reinforce their ability to contribute to growth. The firm was founded by journalist Shaili Chopra who has worked with CNBC, NDTV Profit and ETNOW before launching SheThePeople.
The firm which is owned and operated by Digitalist Tech Media Pvt. Ltd, showcases success stories of women achievers. The portal has profiled stories of nearly 10,000 women, including entrepreneurs, authors, sportswomen and corporate executives. The stories are currently offered in English and Hindi and driven primarily by video content. It also conducts conferences and other events.

Last year, Mahindra investedÂ an undisclosed amount in LocalCircles India Pvt. Ltd, which runs a community-based social network LocalCircles.com.
